  1. I tied a uni, double uni and a uni-uni knot for around 20 years. I could tie it blindfolded with a two hands occupied mmm, but that is another story. After transitioning into braid to fluro with lighter lines (20-6), I noticed frequent breakoffs. I mean frequent. I lost a lot of money in lures and a lot of fish. After trying several other knots, I have settled on the alberto (or modified alberto- not sure) for the braid to fluro and most recently the "Swindle Double Shindo Over-The-Creek, Beside-The-Barn Foothole Knot" (not sure of the real name) for fluro to lure. Not a huge fan of the 3 tag ends on the latter knot, but it is very solid. I have learned the FJ knot and it seems as good or better than the Alberto, but it is a pain to tie. My breakoffs contributed to knots has decreased 90% since the switch.

  2. Excellent, thanks! Have had the tag end slip at times especially when hurried, and clinch and trilene knots are a pain and distort the line.

  3. Awesome idea! I do my own version of the Lefty/kreh loop which is basically a uni on top of an overhand knot so will definitely incorporate this weedless option. In it's original form I have had the kreh loop fail once and I'm still a little sore about missing that fish (big barramundi). I can't tie a perfection loop and needed a good loop knot. I've never had a uni knot fail on me before so I put 2 and 2 together 🙂 I fish anywhere from 20lb to 80lb and haven't had issues since.

  4. Great tip! Uni was already my favorite knot, especially for TA clips. Killing me not mentioning the FISH N FOOL knot for braid (winner of knot wars). Nobody's perfect lol. And seriously, thanx a lot for the video on the BG. All back together spinning almost as smooth as before, used my shimano permalube grease, not taking it out on the sand again. Did shoot the bearing retainer and the bail spring across the room. You gave me a fair warning. Lol. Again thanx for the informative videos.

  5. Good to know! If you wanna test another spooling station the Piscifun one looks interesting.

I think you mentioned you have a 13 Fishing reel review coming whenever you get to it, which is it?
