Typically tippet will be more supple when necessary. In addition, tippet will tie and hold knots better especially when utilizing clinch knots, surgeons knots, and blood knots. Take a look at Orvis SuperStrong for the best knot strength to diameter in the game. I use that, and Umpqua primarily.
