I'm not a master fisherman, but I am a carpenter. New wood will leach out moisture and scent, pine for instance can give off a turpentine smell… I'd bet the fish don't care for that.

how can I get better at skipping baits under docks and brush, what's a ideal setup to use? what are some heavier soft plastics that are good for skipping?

excellent video as always. It was great to be able to see where you were casting to at different times. it helps to be able to see the Lord in the water and where it's casted to.
