The FD has a lot more bells and whistles and overall a better design but I fear when you get your fishing line, stringer or anchor rope tangled in it it might be harder if not impossible to get out while you are on the water. The nice thing about the native is you can rotate it all the way out and untangle it.

Check out the Native Slayer Propel LT. It only comes in at 60 lbs bare bone, light enough to car top solo. If you're interested in a kayak that is light, pedal driven and easy to transport, this is the ticket. I'm done with hauling heavy yaks around.

As a owner of the both the Jackson Cuda 14 and Jackson Big Tuna I would strongly recommend Jackson Kayaks to anyone. Nothing against Native at all just a personal preference. Great customer service, great kayaks that are pretty much ready to go out and fish with all the accessories they come with.

As far as the speed difference goes for the FD, your host forgot to mention that the pitch can be adjusted which will give you more speed but you also have to put in more effort. I'd go with the Coosa FD.

I have the Coosa FD and couldn't be happier. It really shines in the marsh and shallow water but also moves is pretty quick with the medium setting. I'm going to test the aggressive faster setting at some point.

I own a slayer propel 13 and it is a good fishing yak, but has a terrible turn radius. I even put a boondox rudder on. If you fish you really will love the propeller yaks over the Hobie just for the reverse factor. Hobies are nice but river fishing in slow current and wind you need instant reverse or you have to constantly anchor. My advice would be to test drive them. Also from what i have seen on YT the NativeTitan seems kinda nice. Last thing is whatever you get put a boonedox landing gear on it and get a trailer ( it makes loading and unloading so much easier. Steve, you have to try both before you decide, that being said I tried both this spring (the FD was one of the prototypes). My size was the deciding factor in finally ordering my Old Town Predator PDL (6'5" 290lb.). I loved everything about the FD except that my size 14 feet would have heel slap on the kayak deck every time I pedaled using the balls of my feet on the pedals. The FD is a definite game changer in shallow water (flats – hint, hint :). Good luck, I know you'll love whichever one you buy.
