Have used the surgeons knot for a loop knot for years, never have had any problem with it. Never thouht to use it to attach a swivel before. Seems never to old to learn something new.
Great video. My family (all love fishing) thought I was crazy for using surgeon loops to connect leaders etc. Sure there are more straight knots, but this is so darn easy when your on the water, why bother with anything else? It takes tenth of the time. Thanks for the validation!
Luke what do you use kahle hooks for? they're our standard for fluke because fluke have a skinny mouth, but I've heard of them being good for catfish too (though I generally use circles)
I am not a cat fisherman. But since I started watching your videos I have 2 beginner catfish rods for me and one of my sons. I do enjoy your videos all of them for the most part. But I absolutely love your knot lessons: snelling, tying different rigs, tying braid to mono… They're really good. Thank you

This loop even has a name ? Its the most simplest loop. Every angler should know this.
I tried these and they perform very well and easy too
you had me at cold fingers. Been fishing for rainbows in the snow. This set up saves much time.
I use the double surgeon loop on any mono over 20lb test . Holds up fine to 300lb sturgeon
