  1. The man was on point with the sales pitches. But hell, it's no coincidence. He claims to be the largest Skeeter & Phoenix dealer in the country. If he's got that kind of inventory at 50-75k, he might as well be selling Mercedes-Benz and claim being the biggest dealership in the country. With all due respect bigger doesn't equal best. I wish he walked out on the floor with you and answered some concerns you mentioned.

  2. I started with a simple 10 footer with a 5 hp motor and as I became better off financially I upgraded!! I wasn't going to put myself in 50 or 60 thousand dollars debt for a toy!! I'm 50 now and own a beautiful ruby red ranger with a 200 envinrude! I also paid cash which saved me whole lot of money!!

  3. My uncle is a manager at the Skeeter boats factory and according to Skeeter, they're number 3 in bass boat sales, not number 1 as the gentleman suggested. They're behind Ranger and Nitro. Any of those three are a really good boat in my opinion. You can always find people who've had a bad experience with any of them. It comes down to comfort, feel, the outboard you want, and obviously how much you're willing to spend.

  4. Surprised the sales staff didn't come out & follow you around like you know what. The good dealers would have a bunch on a lake & drive you out or set up a test drive & let you go at it. Not all BB are alike. too many different ones & they all perform differently. Really need to get into one & look at, how well it performs the way you fish.

  5. If you're going to be fishing manufacture sanctioned tournaments you also need to consider manufacture payouts if you win a tournament…

    SKEETER / NITRO – $3,000
    Phoenix – $7,000
    Legend – $10,000

Manufacture payouts make a big difference especially if your going to be fishing tournaments.

  6. I went through this process about a year ago and ended up with a new ranger. But before that I almost pulled the trigger on buying a new nitro and I'm so glad I didn't. Put a nitro and any other brand side by side and you will see why the price is so low on nitro. I walk In Bass pro shop now and laugh at how poor the quality is on nitro boat.

  7. Talk to people in your area. Go out on as many different brands as you can. Local boards or even Facebook are great ways to do it. Bass boat guys love to show off their boats. They will tell you what they love and what they hate and you also get to fish. lol

  8. I've got the same black and red skeeter that was used in your video. Ours has a 300 Yamaha on it it's a pretty good boat, and not to mention it came from fun in sun as well.

  9. I got my first boat, and it's a $500 aluminum 16 foot vhaul with a decent trailer and because I am very good with my hands I have decided to buy cheap and restore. I would recommend this because when you are done you know that you did all the work and it is that much more fulfilling. Patience is key.

  10. thanks for the reply… I honestly think  for $30-$35 z18 is best . your getting very good size, tons of storage, very open deck that is basically same as 20 ft'er, and you just saved $25k. FYI… buy a basic paint job and talk it down like you need save the $$$ because you can get it wrapped for $1200-$1500 andhave a brand new boat underneath if you ever anted to sale… I have dealt with BPS for 20 years(never bought a boat from them) but the rest of the merch if I have ever had any issues they have gave me no grief what so ever. I will trust somebody until they personally screw me over 1 on 1.

  11. Hey man I have a 2014 legend and we love it. It has the thickist jellcoat on it and is the smoothist riding boat out there so check there website and sartin marine is a dealer there in east texas

  12. THAT SKEETER GUY IS FULL OF CRAP.. PRETTY SURE SKEETER IS 3RD IN BUSINESS BEHIND "TRACKER,NITRO" AND RANGER.. AT THE END OF THE DAY SKEETER IS MASS PRODUCED THE SAME WAY AS REST OF BOATS AND HAVE THE SAME MANUFACTURING ISSUES. I KNOW MANUFACTURING PROCESSES BECAUSE I HAVE WORKED DIFFERNT BACKGROUNDS FOR 20 YEARS…. THERE IS JUNK IN ALL BRANDS JUST HAVE TO FIND THE ONE WITH THE LEAST ISSUES

  13. USED BOATS CAN BE GARBAGE BUT YOU WILL PUT OUT $$$$ QUICKLY. MY BOAT LOOKED GOOD AND RAN GOOD BUT JUST GETTING THE THING IN CONDITION TO FEEL COMFORTABLE ON THE WATER WITHOUT WORRYING ABOUT IT COST ME ABOUT $1200. SO NOW IM $7000 IN FOR A GOOD USED BOAT

  14. SO THANKFUL YOU MAKNG THIS VIDEO. IM IN SAME SETUP AS YOU . HAVE A 1996 ASTRO I BOUGHT BUT WOULD LIKE A NEW ONE, I HAVE LOOKED AT A BUNCH . I AGREE COMPLETELY ON THE "FINANCIALLY SOUND" PART. FROM WHAT I HAVE LOOKED AT SEEMS LIKE A Z18 IS THE BEST VALUE I HAVE SEEN ( OVERALL SIZE, $$$, AND WARRANTY)…..THOUGHTS???
