With this warm February in California, the fish are getting confused. So they just did what matt said…..ran up shallow. Found them in 7-10 feet of water and were hungry. Rigged a a 3 inch grey paddle tail on a drop shot just like Tim….and caught a few. Thanks for the lessons. This is about 40 miles south of Clear Lake
Great video!!!, always hear about braid to a leader, know you also use braid to leader on crank-baits also how long a leader and what type knot do you use for baitcaster setups?
Is there a rule regarding barometric pressure? We had it high last weekend 30.6 and before a storm front moved in. Then it fell along with the temps during and after the front, and dropped to 29.8
Three days before this post (Sat 6th) It warmed a bit in the afternoon and I spotted two nice bass slowly cruzin' up in the shallows. I got one to react to a Duo Ninja GlideBait but it was sluggish nip at the tail. Then slowly a whole school emerged and were looking at me. That afternoon sun was waking them up. If only I had a jig on………The next afternoon didn't warm up, nor has it since. But when you posted this Tues. I was thinking, Matt must have noticed something too. Nothing gets by him…. 67* high today. I better be there again….with a jig.
Took your advice on the jigs. Got my first winter bass. Its been a real struggle for me as i am knew to bass fishing. Your videos have been REAL helpful. Love the channel.
Man i love when people say "how to fish winter days" and they say throw big swimbaits… as i look out my window into my pond completely covered in snow and ice while its – 5 degrees outside in Chicago. You don't know how good you have it.
Ok so let me ask you this. Here in Colorado it has been the weirdest winter. Hardly any snow. It's mostly been nights In the low 20s and days in the 40s 50s. Yesterday it was 45 out and raining at 9 pm. Today it's sunny no wind and high 30s at 11am. We've only had a few "storms" roll through. What do you best fishing for the normal days would be?
Great video learned a lot! TacticalBassin is awesome l learned so much last year. Also would like to see more challenges, bank and pond fishing videos from y'all. you are my favorite you-tubers and hope to see more soon.
Hey Matt, how would you recommend catching smallmouth bass in a big lake with really high, muddy, cold water in sunny, hot, bluebird sky days, I know it sounds kind of odd, but I fish the same lake every may long weekend and it’s always flooded and super muddy, I never have much luck and was wondering what I would have the best chances with. Any advice would help, thanks!
I like slender jigging spoons. When you hop them, it creates an S motion as it's crawling along the bottom. It's got a lot of action for a slow-moving bait. You can use them for suspended fish too, in open water.
BTW, recommending Keitechs for trout was a good call. I caught a bunch on a chatterbait last week. Thanks!
Fished Shasta today and many of the bass I caught were puking up shad… lots of your recommended baits worked… thanks for the info you guys share… much appreciated!

Looks like your dog isn't impressed unless it's over 5 lbs. Lol
You guys need to come to Arkansas and fish the bass cat tournament this year. Would like to be able to meet you guys in person.

I’d like to take my old dog with me but she’s 1/2 lab and 1/2 beaver. Keeping her in boat would be a loosing proposition.
Great. What’s more important better rods and reels or electronics? What kind of electronics do you recommend? By the way Hi from central Fl
I'm in Raleigh NC. So we don't have many lakes 40' deep

Skunked on Hennessy )post frontal) slinging a jig last week. Bruised ego but I didn’t want to give up on a potential big fish.

I know it's off topic but what would be the best budget rod for a 6 inch Huddleston?
You guys should come to lake lanier and try out your techniques. I've been struggling to catch the big bass.
