  1. Good to know another strong knot, I basically use 2 knots, the Palomar and the Uni-knot, neither have failed me, and now I'm going to try the knot you demonstrated. Since I don't yet know the knot's name, I'll just refer to it as "That Alex Rudd Knot Thing" for now.

  2. Never seen this knot before but will definitely give it a try. I've always just used a Uni knot since I'm always using a double uni for my leader to braid. Never had any issues yet, knock on wood. Awesome video, thanks man I'll give it a try.
Hey Alex, what leader knot do you use, if you don't mind me asking? Thanks!

  3. Great stuff bro?? it’s basically a double San Diego jam without going through the bottom before going through the top. I highly recommend giving the Simon clinch knot a try for braid. I actually invented it and it’s becoming very popular around the world. I have been contacted by two different international magazines that want to publish it if you can believe that. It’s actually my highest viewed video. 45,000 views in over a month and a half. Before that six months of only 9000 views ???. Crazy how things take off. Good luck on the water bro.

  4. I use the Palomar or the double improved cinch knot depending on what I am throwing, I like that knot because it doubles around the eye of the bait . If nobody knows the name of it maybe we should call it the double Rudd knot!

  5. I use the same knot, it’s the absolute best, especially for floro, never had it fail at the not. I’ve never heard a name for it before. I use the FG knot for my braid to leader connections.

  6. Double pitzen, 16/20, Shaw grigsby knot, swindle double shindo-over the hill beside the barn foot hole knot. lots of different names for it. Very similar to a double San Diego jam but the double san diego you go through the bottom loop then the top loop.

  7. First time I've seen this knot. It looks good, and I will definitely give it a try. I typically use either palomar or improved clinch knots, as well as uni-uni for my leader to mainline connections. By the way, great demonstration!

  8. Yeah, I'll give that knot a try. I've been using the clinch knot for most applications. I tend to vary it up and use the palomar when I'm throwing straight braid and the palomar again for light line. It's crazy but practicing different knots is a fun pass time for me. Thanks for this video, it gives me some new ideas.

  9. Alex, I see a lot of your subscribers recognize and name the knot correctly. It goes by many names but the most common name used for it today is a San Diego Jam knot. Your version is a Double San Diego Jam knot. Pitzen is another common name for it along with about a half dozen others. Jimmy Houston uses a version of it, too. The knot does test really well in strength tests. If you have a large crankbait or some lure with treble hooks hanging all over it, this is a great knot to learn to tie (single) where you actually swing the lure around to form the loops. Brad
