  1. Down sizing, especially your line, in the winter, when the water is usually lower and clearer is the way to go. Very informative video, even though it looked like you were just having fun.

  2. That's a great trip any day of the week! Great video Brant. Was that Thursday? I went out that day and only caught one bass! Worst fishing day I've had in a while.

  3. I took an ultralight quantum combo out one morning just for fun, and caught a 5lb Bonita! Man that was a fun catch! Another time the same combo caught a 40lb cow ray, my reel gave out after that one.

  4. Hi Brant I would like to sponsor you and invite you to do some fishing in the north. I can't find your email or I don't know how to contact you on personal level. Thanks

  5. Foggy warm morning after a cold spell specks generally eat it up. That small reel with the awful drag cost you that big fish. You can have just as much fun with a light seven foot rod and a quality reel and when that big one comes along you are not overmatched. You might think about pulling the washers out of the spool. They could be stuck together. If the fiber washers are shot go buy a square of felt material at Wal-Mart and make some washers out of that. If you are going to keep using that reel it would be worth a few minutes to smooth out the drag.
